WHY BE A PARENT BUILDER?

Over the years we have seen these trips become an opportunity for parents to have an incredible experience with their child. You become a mentor, friend, confidant, support system to the most amazing youth. It truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity to bond with your Builder and others in a rare way: side by side, working, sweating, laughing, and impacting the lives of the people you serve. You will be the much-needed support for your Trip Leaders while experiencing your very own miracles. And hey, a vacation that you don’t have to plan is an added benefit!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Parents of registered Youth Builders are able to sign up as a Parent Builder, but we’ve seen the powerful experience shared between a grandparent and their grandchild and even aunts and uncles with their nieces and nephews so the opportunity is also available to more than parents (35 age minimum).

YOUR ROLE AS A PARENT BUILDER

It’s easy to feel Christ near when your focus everyday is service. I was invigorated to bring this feeling home to my wife and other children. Lastly, I feel it greatly improved my relationship with my daughter and it was a miracle to see her come closer to the restored gospel and its standards. Thank you for the opportunity to serve with this program. I hope to do it with all four of my children.

This experience touched me deeply as I connected strongly with the people we met in Mozambique. My goal was to really connect with and get to know each Builder there. I did this and felt a strong connection to each one of these kids. I feel like they are my own kids. I miss every one of them terribly, and have the most endearing memories from this trip...I'm so grateful I got to go and serve with all these kids and I consider it to be one of the best things I've done. (And I've done a lot of things in my life!)
