OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE

The world has been waiting for you. So have we.

Welcome back, Builder.

It’s time to write your page in the story.

Travel looks very different these days. But with Humanitarian XP, you can trust that care for your Builder and their safety are our top priorities. Check back here for up-to-date, relevant information on our response to the COVID-19 pandemic*.

One very interesting note regarding the re-opening of our international destinations.  Even now, during the current spike in COVID-19 cases nationwide, none of our countries that have reopened to Americans during the last few months have chosen to shut down again. We see this as an optimistic sign that countries are learning how to manage international travel safely, and we are hopeful that trend continues as we move into the Winter, Spring, and Summer of 2021.

At least three companies have now announced a vaccine with a success rate of over 90% that are expected to roll out by the end of the year. Travel industry experts are now predicting a U-shaped recovery, with four more months of stabilizing as the fear of travel decreases, and real traction beginning around April 2021.

Your travel investment is safe with us — Introducing our temporary money-back guarantee program**

All trips booked during Registration Week (November 8-12, 2021) are now backed by our money-back guarantee program**. If your international trip is cancelled by Humanitarian XP 90 days or more prior to your departure, due to complications or restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, you can either switch with your same group to an amazing Domestic Alternative service trip and be refunded the difference in cost, or you can choose to cancel and Humanitarian XP will refund you the entire cost of your trip, less the original non-refundable deposit and any donations. Any trips booked after official Registration Week will be subject to the regular cancellation policy. Exclusions apply.

Your safety is our top priority – Introducing Humanitarian XP SafeCrossings™

The safety of your Builder has always been a top priority at Humanitarian XP. We believe that life-changing impact is only possible when we work within a secure environment. The Humanitarian XP methodology already includes crucial aspects of our safety approach, but this year the sanitation protocols we are putting into place will help protect the Builders and those we serve even more.

Our commitment is to take precautions wherever we’re traveling, and to work closely with our local coordinators and Trip Leaders to ensure safety. In light of the pandemic, this year, we developed the Humanitarian XP SafeCrossings program.

SafeCrossings is a detailed guide for exactly how we’re making safety a top priority at every point along the trip. It includes safety protocols and clearing guidelines for each moment of the expedition — on the bus, at the worksites, in the hotels, while eating meals, and more.

Domestic Alternative Trips

Since the pandemic began, we have been hearing from parents about how much they want their child to have the kind of life-changing experience in a faith-based environment that many of them experienced as youth. The events of 2020 have caused isolation, stress, and missed opportunities for too many youth.

Our team is working incredibly hard this year to plan double our normal amount of trips, so that in the event that you can’t travel internationally to your chose destination, you can still experience the Humanitarian XP magic on a Domestic Alternative trip. Regardless of where you go, we are determined to keep serving those who need us most.

Each Domestic Alternative trip will include the major elements of the Humanitarian XP methodology: a difficult but needed construction project, the chance to bond with 19 peers from your same faith, and the digital detox that allows you the space to consider whether the person you are becoming is consistent with who you want to be.
