Greece: Covid-19 Restrictions

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

Since registration, we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Greece, and like you, hoping that the restrictions around American visitors would ease. Unfortunately, they have not, and based on information we’ve gathered from our local contacts and travel consultants, they do not anticipate the conditions changing in time to run our Athens trip this summer. For that reason, we are unable to move forward as originally planned.

Current Restrictions

  • Greece’s borders are closed to American visitors.
  • A nationwide lockdown is in effect 24 hours per day.
  • There is a mandatory seven-day quarantine upon arrival.
  • Traveling between individual regions in Greece is highly restricted.
  • Although we are aware of the Minister of Tourism’s statement that Greece hopes to reopen its borders on May 15th, significant doubts remain as to the feasibility of that hope.
