Fiji: Covid-19 Restrictions

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

Since registration, we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Fiji, and like you, hoping that the restrictions around American visitors would ease. Unfortunately, they have not, and based on information we’ve gathered from our local contacts and travel consultants, they do not anticipate the conditions changing in time to run our Fiji Suva and Fiji Nadi trips this summer. For that reason, we are unable to move forward as originally planned.

Current Restrictions

  • Fiji’s borders are still closed indefinitely to American visitors.
  • Vaccinations have not yet begun, and are now projected to begin in June of this year at the earliest.
  • Entry to Fiji is severely restricted. For those with special exceptions, there is a mandatory quarantine for 14 days in a government-controlled hotel/facility.
  • There have only been 67 cases of Covid-19 in Fiji to date. They are therefore being extremely cautious, and will potentially wait for widespread vaccine distribution before reopening their borders.
  • No American missionaries have yet returned to service in Fiji.
