We know you’ve probably had a few questions about COVID-19 testing before and during your trip. This blog will help answer those questions, and outline exactly when to take your COVID test before you leave.

Should I quarantine before I go?

We strongly suggest that you self-quarantine one week prior to your trip to help ensure a negative test result. If you do test positive, or do not receive a negative test result in time, we will do our best to put you on a later trip, but there is no guarantee this will be possible. You would need to pay for your new trip in full and there would be no refund for the original trip you were scheduled on.

 Is a Covid test required?

 If so, PCR or rapid?

When should I take my test?

IMPORTANT! Please read this section VERY carefully. If you fail to test at the correct time, you could be blocked from entering. We have carefully outlined your specific window for testing, so that you won’t have any issues upon arrival.

Where should I take my test?

You’re welcome to get tested anywhere that provides approved tests: pharmacies, doctor’s offices, testing companies, etc. For same day testing options, refer to the link below:

Three things to know ahead for your Covid test:

1.    Make sure to check ahead and know how quickly results will be returned so you have enough time for them to arrive before departure.

2.    Most testing locations are by appointment only. Make sure to find out how far ahead you can schedule your appointment, so you can take your test at your preferred time.

3.    Most companies email you a PDF of your results. Make sure to give them your correct email address so your results make it to your inbox where you can then download and print it out before you leave.

If I get a positive test result before my trip, can I get a refund?

As stated when you registered, there will be no refund for your current trip if you test positive or are unable to acquire a negative result before departure. (See our Covid Response Page for more information).

What happens if I test positive while on my trip?

If you test positive for COVID-19 while on your trip, you will be required to quarantine at your own expense . We recommend obtaining health insurance to cover this potential cost, in case you test positive while in-country.

How might gathering restrictions impact my trip?

 Lorem ipsum dictum….

You’ve got this!

Now take a deep breath. We know it seems like a lot to figure out, but there really are a lot of good testing options available this year. If you take the time now to make a plan for your COVID-19 tests, everything will run smoothly, and we’ll have you out serving on your trip without any issues.

With love,

Your HXP Team
