2024 Project Story: Indonesia Jakarta

Indonesia is currently grappling with soaring poverty rates, limited access to education and healthcare, and ongoing political instability. While the Indonesian government has made substantial strides in improving education in recent years, Indonesian schools still require support to enhance the quality of education and provide the necessary resources for success.

Approximately 70 percent of Indonesia’s population resides in rural areas, where farming, fishing, and other agricultural-based livelihoods serve as the primary sources of income. Poverty is particularly acute in these remote regions, making it imperative to address the pressing need for improved education and essential infrastructure for Indonesian students. A high-quality educational system is the cornerstone of a capable workforce.

This summer, HXP Builders will play a pivotal role in addressing these ongoing issues by constructing a medical and dental clinic. The area in which Builders will be working has not had access to a doctor or dentist for many years due to their medical facility being wiped out by a destructive typhoon. The work these Builders will be doing will be critical in providing healthcare and improving the quality of life for hundreds of local families.
