Since registration, we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Zimbabwe, we are happy to let you know that based on the latest available information, HEFY is planning to move forward with your trip as planned.

We made the choice to move forward largely based on the following data:

  • Zimbabwe’s country borders are open to American visitors.
  • There is no required quarantine when arriving in the country.
  • There are no social gathering restrictions, but social distancing is required.
  • Restaurants are open for take-out and fully functioning. Safari parks and tourist sites are also open.

Zimbabwe- Covid-19 Testing, Requirements, and Vaccination status:

  • Your Zimbabwe group will be spending their first-weekend sightseeing in Kenya. As such, the following includes restrictions for both Kenya and Zimbabwe.
  • All passengers arriving in Kenya by air are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR or an Antigen test within 96 hours prior to arrival.
  • All passengers arriving in Zimbabwe by air are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 48 hours prior to arrival. We’ve planned time for testing while the groups are in Kenya, Testing will range from $50-$100 depending on the available hospital.
  • As stated on our website, an e-visa is required to enter Kenya. Information will be sent to you within the month detailing the latest process of obtaining this visa, which you will need to obtain prior to departure. Please do not apply for your visa until we have given you the instructions and please follow our instructions exactly.
  • Effective January 26, all airline passengers to the United States must provide a negative Covid-19 viral test taken within 72 hours (three calendar days) of flight departure from Kenya. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel. If these testing requirements are still in effect this summer, HEFY will arrange for that testing to occur for all groups. As previously stated, all COVID-related testing expenses are subject to change and costs will be the responsibility of the Builder. Testing costs range from $50-$100 USD/test.
  • If you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, HEFY strongly encourages you to do so to reduce the risk of trip disruption. If not, please consider a self-quarantine at least one week prior to your departure to reduce your risk of testing positive and being disqualified from joining your trip.
  • Zimbabwe – Restrictions as of March 22, 2021:
  • Currently, New York requires a 3-day quarantine upon arrival unless you’re in transit. Additionally, the Manhattan Temple is still at Level 1, which means the temple is closed to our groups. Because of this, our groups will be having a temple experience in Zimbabwe at the Zimbabwe new temple site and won’t be spending any time in NYC.
  • There is a curfew from 10:00 pm- 5:00 am in Zimbabwe, which will have no or minimal effect on our trip
