Since registration, we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Peru, we are happy to let you know that based on the latest available information, HEFY is planning to move forward with your trip as planned.
We made the choice to move forward largely based on the following data:
- Borders are open to American visitors.
- Restaurants and tourist sites are open.
- No mandatory quarantine with negative RT-PCR Covid-19 results. Must be taken no more than 72 hours beforehand.
Peru- Covid-19 Testing, Requirements, and Vaccination status:
- Masks, face shields and social distancing are required.
- Vaccines are being administered in Peru.
- Effective January 26, all airline passengers to the United States must provide a negative Covid-19 viral test taken within 72 hours (three calendar days) of flight departure from Peru. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel. If these testing requirements are still in effect this summer, HEFY will arrange for that testing to occur for all groups. As previously stated, all COVID-related testing expenses are subject to change and costs will be the responsibility of the Builder.
- If you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, HEFY strongly encourages you to do so to reduce the risk of trip disruption. If not, please consider a self-quarantine at least one week prior to your departure to reduce your risk of testing positive and being disqualified from joining your trip.
