Since registration, we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Colombia, we are happy to let you know that based on the latest available information, HEFY is planning to move forward with your trip as planned.

We made the choice to move forward largely based on the following data:

  • Colombia’s country borders are open to American visitors.
  • There are no curfews or lockdown restrictions.
  • There is no required quarantine when arriving in the country.

Colombia: Restrictions as of April 12, 2020:

  • If groups are unable to attend church in person, they will participate in the local virtual sacrament meeting or conduct their own at the hotel, if local leaders authorize. HEFY will comply with all local leadership guidelines regarding interaction with local wards and branches.
  • Masks and social distancing are required

Colombia – Covid-19 Testing, Requirements, and Vaccination status as of April 12th:

  • Travelers arriving in Colombia must present negative results from a COVID-19 PCR test administered no more than 96 hours prior to departure.
  • The distribution of vaccines is in process
  • Effective January 26, all airline passengers to the United States must provide a negative Covid-19 viral test taken within 72 hours (three calendar days) of flight departure from Colombia. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel. If these testing requirements are still in effect this summer, HEFY will arrange for that testing to occur for all groups. As previously stated, all COVID-related testing expenses are subject to change and costs will be the responsibility of the Builder.
  • If you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, HEFY strongly encourages you to do so to reduce the risk of trip disruption. If not, please consider a self-quarantine at least one week prior to your departure to reduce your risk of testing positive and being disqualified from joining your trip.

*These restrictions are for American travelers. Please contact your embassy for restrictions pertaining to your country if you are not coming from America.
