First Look at 2023 Registration

The 2023 Season is around the corner! Trip information is now LIVE, go to the Builder Portal to view details now. (Our portal is brand new this year! Everyone will need to make an account on this new system, whether you’ve been on a trip with us or not.)

For those of you who are new around here, welcome to HXP (formerly HEFY)!  We already love you. For those who have returned, we are excited to have you back for another summer of miracles.

We want to provide you with all the information you need to start preparing now! As we approach Official Registration Week (December 5-9), we’ll send an email with solidified registration logistics and any other essential things you’ll want to know before starting the registration process.

*Now that the global pandemic is over, HXP is no longer requiring the COVID-19 vaccine. Please note that some of the countries and projects that we work with will still require it, however, HXP will revert back to our normal policy regarding all recommended vaccines. Please note that some countries or projects may announce a change mid-year to their requirements. Should that happen, we will do all we can to reroute you to a different trip, but depending on the time of year when the announcement is made, that may or may not be possible.

All 2023 HXP trip locations and dates are now LIVE in the Builder Portal. This information is subject to change up until Registration Week begins in December.

How does registration work?

HXP Registration week will run from December 5th to 9th, 2022. Registration will open at 12:00 PM (noon) MST and close at 11:59 PM MST, with a different age group* registering each consecutive day:

*Ages listed above are determined by your age on September 1, 2023.

NOTE: Builders must be within the age requirements (16-19 for international, 14-16 for domestic) on the first day of their trip. Any intentional misrepresentation of age or gender in order to get a spot on a specific trip will result in a canceled trip.

This year our portal looks a little different but the process is still the same. You will submit your top 10 preferences of trips and then be run through our lottery system. To see an in-depth, step-by-step process of registration, click the button below.

What types of trips are available?

Here’s what you need to know about HXP’s 2023 product offerings:  As always, you can choose from different locations featuring two types of experiences described below. Take a look at them all and start thinking about which one feels right for you so you’ll be ready in December when registration week opens!

BUILD

Serve local people by building sustainable infrastructure. The one where you and your group go somewhere that needs a little help, and you build something to make people’s lives better like a school or a hospital. Depending on your age, you can choose from locations on nearly every continent. The majority of our participants do “BUILD” and change their own lives as they change the lives of others.

SUMMIT, REFUGE, TEACH

These unique offerings don’t quite fit the typical “HXP mold”. This year, we will hold SUMMIT trips in Jerusalem (16-19) and Saints (14-16), REFUGE trips in Jordan (16-19), and TEACH trips in Japan (16-19). These experiences still offer opportunities to build positive peer groups, learn about sustainable service, experience a Digital Detox, and strengthen your testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Where will we be?

Our 2023 trip locations are LIVE! Click the button below to start exploring which trips feel right for you.

Who can come?

Youth Builders

HXP trips are designed to be exhilarating, exhausting, and unforgettable. You’ll push full speed ahead from the beginning to the end of your trip, so get ready to roll up your sleeves! You’ll be strengthening your work ethic, your relationships with your Heavenly Father and Savior, and your love for people.

Domestic trips are a little shorter than international trips and have a similar, but condensed structure that yields the same incredible experiences and results as longer trips. We’ve seen a real need close to home and have been amazed by the enthusiasm and faith demonstrated by this age group.

International Trips at a Glance:

  • Youth Builders are 16 to 19 years old on the first day of the trip
  • Trips are about 17 days
  • Groups of 23 (19 Youth Builders, 2 Parent Builders, 2 Trip Leaders)

Domestic Trips at a Glance:

  • Youth Builders are 14 to 16 years old on the first day of the trip
  • Trips are 10 days
  • Groups of 16 (12 Youth Builders, 2 Parent Builders, 2 Trip Leaders)

Parent Builders

During Registration Week only, we will be offering a discount for all Parent Builders. For international trips, adult participants will pay $1,000 less, for domestic trips, they will pay $600 less.

Over the years we have seen these trips become an opportunity for parents to have an incredible experience with their child, but parents of registered Youth Builders aren’t the only people that are able to sign up as a Parent Builder, so the opportunity is also available to aunts/uncles, grandparents, cousins, and family friends (35 age minimum). You’ll become a mentor, friend, confidant, and support system to the most amazing youth.

As a Parent Builder, you will have the opportunity to not only have a life-changing experience but also to share it with your child. The trip is designed so that you interact with and love all of your Builders, not just your child. This trip is exhausting in the most incredible way—you’ll get to keep up with the teenage pace in all the activities planned while forming relationships that will last forever.

Trip Leaders

Our incredible Trip Leaders have always set our organization apart. Behind every life-changing experience is an amazing leader—they truly are our secret sauce! They not only go above and beyond to love Builders as their own, but they also serve as mentors, motivators, and supporters before, during, and after trips.

If there’s a person that you would most want to influence you or your child and also fits our application requirements, please let them know why you think so highly of them and encourage them to apply (we hire on a rolling basis, so the sooner they apply, the better chance they’ll have of being accepted!
