Uganda faces many challenges in providing quality and accessible basic education to all children. Most of their schools have little resources and space in order to support these children in their educational experience. Many teachers are unable to work because of lack of facilities to do so. As a result, many children are left without basic educational opportunities. Only 1 in 4 of children in Uganda makes it past elementary or primary school and less than half are literate by the end of this schooling. This year, HumanitarianXP Builders will be traveling to Kampala to work with underprivileged children and teachers to provide job and educational opportunities. In the community that the Builders will be working in, children will have greater resources and facilities to practice learning and development, and more jobs offered to teachers will help to provide for these families for years to come.
