In the last decade, the economic conditions in Argentina have become incredibly unstable. According to the World Bank, because of this economic insecurity, nearly 40 percent of Argentines live in poverty today. The COVID-19 pandemic and strict country regulations have made matters worse for the local people.
UNICEF reports that in 2020, a minimum of 357,000 children discontinued schooling, and 20 percent of those students had still not returned to school in May 2021. It is typical that in a state of economic fluctuation, education has become less of a priority, and more of a privilege. Many students have lost adequate access to schooling and support.
This summer, HXP Builders will be constructing a structure that will support local students. The final details of the project are still being finalized.
