Belize Cayo
The classroom sizes in Belize are continually and rapidly increasing which is promising for the youth of the country, but taxing on the current educational facilities. HXP Builders constructed two additional classrooms with proper ventilation and cooling systems, as well as additional space to prevent overcrowding. The classrooms will alleviate the pressure on the current local school, and provide the 425 students who attend there a comfortable and safe learning environment.
Belize Orange Walk
Builders on the Belize Orange Walk trip this summer built two new classrooms with the long-term goal of helping more students in rural communities complete their education. Due to less attention from teachers because of the big teacher-to-student ratio as well as uncomfortable learning environments, many youth do not complete their education. The additional two classrooms provides additional facilities at a previously flooded school to shrink that teacher-to-student ratio and promote higher retention of the 225 students that attend.

Bolivia Corazon
On the Bolivia Corazon trip this summer, Builders created opportunities for students and local children with disabilities by building classrooms to specifically accommodate them. These classrooms immediately benefit 90 students by providing a space for children with disabilities as well as alleviating the load of teachers in nearby classrooms. Families and communities will benefit from opportunities to work during the day. with many future attendees to come.

Cambodia Angkor Wat
Builders on the Cambodia Angkor Wat trip this summer constructed two additional classrooms at a local primary school. Over 10% of children in Cambodia still lack access to education following the mass genocide in the 1970s. The two classrooms that were constructed doubled both the size of the current school as well as the number of children that can attend!
Cambodia Siem Reap
In Cambodia, Builders constructed two additional classrooms for a local school. The current school is functioning with walls made out of bamboo sticks, forcing students to sit in puddles of water when it rains. These classrooms will provide a safer, more comfortable environment for students to learn in and increase the quality and quantity of education received in the community.
Chile Patagonia
This summer, HXP Builders stepped in to make a significant impact by constructing additional classrooms for a local community. These new classroom spaces not only provide much-needed room for students but also contribute to maintaining safety standards in a region where many buildings are at risk of deterioration. A total of 124 families and 26 workers will directly benefit from this space, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
Columbia de Flores
HXP Builders will be working in an area where generational poverty persists due to a lack of access to education. Builders will construct much-needed classrooms for a school that currently lacks sufficient space for its students. These additional classrooms will have an immediate impact on 100 families with students in the school and will indirectly benefit the 200 families living in the community.
Costa Rica Pura Vida
Builders on the Costa Rica San Jose trip this summer constructed an additional classroom specifically for students with disabilities at a local primary school. This classroom will provide a place for students with disabilities to learn because currently there is no room in the normal primary school for them to have their own space. Families in the community will be impacted as their children receive the education they need.
Costa Rica San Jose
This summer, HXP Builders built a brand new school for the foundation called Amigos de Syndrome Downs (Friends of Down Syndrome when translated to English). This new school will provide a place for children with Down Syndrome to learn in an effective way that is tailored to them and their needs, as well as provide job opportunities for trained teachers and instructors. 150 students with Down Syndrome will receive care as a result of their hard work in the Dominican Republic this summer.
Dominican Republic La Cienaga
In the Dominican Republic, 75 percent of students complete up to 4th grade but only 52 percent complete a full 8 years of elementary school. Builder in Tamboril built additional classrooms and learning space at a local school named Alta Gracia. This elementary school added 50-75 new students at the completion of the expansion of HXP’s project, allowing Alta Gracia to add 5th and 6th graders; a huge relief to families who now don’t need to find a new school after their children graduate from 4th grade.

Guatemala Atitlan
HXP Builders in Guatemala constructed a health center in a small town this summer. In Guatemala, there is 1 hospital bed for every 2,500 people and most clinics only have one or two. Furthermore, healthcare in rural areas is slim to none because of the lack of clinics, forcing doctors to work in the cities. This health center blesses the lives of locals who currently travel many miles (often by foot) to visit a health center in a neighboring large city.
Guatemala Mayan
In a rural Guatemalan community, a local primary school has been operating out of a small house with less than optimal conditions. School is already lower on the priority list for families in poverty, but with it operating out of a home nearby students and their parents are less inclined to go and prioritize it. HXP Builders addressed this problem this summer by building classrooms for this school. This allows students to learn in a more comfortable environment.
India
Women’s Resource Center construction
Indonesia Bali
In Indonesia, 70% of the population lives in rural areas in poverty. Education is the first defense for the future against poverty, so this summer Builders constructed a children’s learning center for disadvantaged children. The kids who benefit from this construction project are severely at risk due to a lack of education and unemployment in the area. HXP has partnered with a local university that will send university students to teach skills and tutor the local children. The work HXP Builders did this summer will have a generational impact on the community.
Indonesia Jakarta
Years ago, a large typhoon wiped out the only healthcare facility in a rural town near Jakarta, depriving the locals of the medical care they needed for years. Builders on the Indonesia Jakarta trip constructed a medical and dental clinic, which provides essential care to hundreds of local families. This drastically improves their quality of life and makes healthcare more affordable, cutting out the costs of travel to receive it like before.
Japan: Teach
HXP Builders in Japan built friendships, relationships, and language skills as they spent time with Japanese students learning English. They spent hours with them each day, teaching them and helping them practice pronunciation and comprehension. 25 students in this local school learned and grew from the interaction with native English speakers, setting them up for success in the professional world.
Kenya Masai Mara
This year, Builders constructed a primary school in Nairobi by building additional classroom blocks and bathrooms. The local primary school has almost 3,500 students and did not have nearly enough space to accommodate them all, coping with major overcrowding and the inability to admit any new students who don’t have the opportunity to enroll in any schools nearby. By building these additional structures, the primary school has more space for students to learn and has more sanitary bathrooms for both students and teachers.
Lone Star
Across the state, and especially in the McAllen Region, the Texas Ramp Project (TRP) receives more requests for ramps than they are able to build. This summer, HXP Builders partnered with them to construct ramps for those in need. The recipients faced steep steps and unsafe ramps that hindered their ability to leave. HXP Builders helped TRP reach many clients in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. With the new ramps, these individuals have a reliable and safe way to enter and exit their homes. This helps them gain independence and overall improve their quality of life.
Malawi: Heart of Africa
In order to accommodate as many children as possible, schools in Malawi run on a track system; this means students only attend school for a few hours each day. Even with the track system, students are packed in a classroom with only one teacher and 60-100 students. HXP Builders helped to alleviate this problem this year by constructing additional classrooms for a local primary school. The new classrooms give students a conducive environment for learning which reduces classroom congestion, absenteeism, and the dropout rate.
Malawi: Refuge
Builders on the Refuge: Malawi trip worked among thousands of refugees from nearby African countries. Beyond ministering and loving so many displaced people, Builders constructed a bakery within the refugee camp. Not only will this bakery be used to produce and distribute food to those in need, but it will also provide 50 job opportunities for refugees, giving them opportunities to earn money for themselves and develop skills for the future.
Malaysia: Build
Malaysia: Build
Malaysia: Love
Malaysia has a large population of both those in the blind and deaf communities, each individual seeks a sense of belonging and meaningful connection. HXP Builders had the chance to serve, love, and connect with over-blind individuals and an entire community of those who are deaf. Builders even learned MSL (Malaysian sign language) and provided social, recreational, and educational opportunities for these communities they grew to love with all their hearts.
Mongolia
Hygiene in Mongolia is severely restricted in the harsh and severe winter conditions, especially among children. Malnutrition and poor hygiene typically cause decreased health and more disease, but HXP Builders worked in a local ger community this summer to combat that for coming years. By building a shower house for a local school and connecting with the community to ensure sustainable warm water for years to come, they established safe, warm shower and toilet facilities for 1,500 students to use throughout the year. The shower house will not only be a refuge of warmth for the local children, but it will promote hygiene and combat disease.

Nepal
Working alongside the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco-Foundation (KRMEF), HXP Builders constructed a student dining hall and kitchen in a leprosy colony. KRMEF works in the leprosy colony to provide nutritious food, medical supplies, and education to children in the colony who are ostracized and restricted in society due to superstitions. This dining hall and kitchen will feed 186 children every day and allow for the 10-20% yearly growth the foundation sees to be properly accommodated.

Panama Bella Vista
In Panama, HXP Builders this summer built additional classrooms onto an already-existing, yet overcrowded school. This extension will allow for 50 more students to attend school, closing the poverty gap and providing steps toward a brighter future for countless families in the community.
Paraguay Iguazu

Peru Inca
HXP Builders in Peru constructed additional classrooms for an overcrowded, underfunded school in an area where poverty is a growing concern for locals. The existing classrooms at this school were not only at full capacity based on a first-come first-serve basis, but they have been deemed potentially dangerous for students because of the conditions and lack of funding. Because of the work done in this school, 60 additional students will have a safe learning environment to propel them forward.
Peru Iquitos
The poverty rate in Iquitos is higher than the national average, making it so that education is not easily accessible due to a lack of resources, and the cycle of poverty is not easily broken. HXP Builders worked in Iquitos to add to an existing preschool there. Additional classrooms and bathrooms make it possible for more than 100 students ages 2-5 from 50 different families (most of which are extremely low-income) to attend school and get started on an education.
Philippines Cebu
To combat both problems with education and sanitation/cleanliness, HXP Builders in Cebu built a nutritional center, classroom, and sanitation station in a local school. This local school currently has 3,000 students and before the additional sanitation stations were constructed, only 10 sinks for all students. These students now have a greater capacity to stay clean and adequately nourished, increasing their probability of staying in school and maintaining good health.
Philippines San Pablo
This summer, HXP Builders constructed facilities within schools for the provision of food along with sanitation stations. This project addresses the nutritional needs of 245 children living in San Pablo. Through the establishment of these well-equipped spaces for meal provision, Builders contributed significantly to the fight against hunger and malnutrition, ensuring that these Filipino children have the vigor and concentration necessary for them to excel academically.
Romania Bucharest: Refuge
Since the start of the conflict in Europe, Ukrainian refugees have been fleeing to Romania and are in need of a lot of help. Builders in Romania worked with various non-profit organizations to bless the lives of these refugees in many different ways. From volunteering with children in schools, providing workshops and recovery classes for mothers and children, and organizing packages of donations for civilians.
Romania Transylvania: Refuge
HXP builders volunteered in a community center that provides psycho-social support, activities for children and teenagers, art therapy, English classes, and other activities to help integrate refugees from Ukraine. Besides working with the Ukrainian refugees, HXP builders will work with the entire community of Baia Mare, a community that has taken in many of these refugees. Builders also provided service to other vulnerable groups including those with disabilities, the elderly, and the Roma community, Romania’s largest community.
Samoa Apia
Samoan culture is loving, welcoming, and friendly, but a problem within the country is a lack of treatment and advocacy against domestic violence. HXP Builders in Samoa will partner with a support group for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse to build a medical and counseling center. Because of the work done by Builders in Samoa, treatment and healing for affected women and children can occur along with awareness being raised for the protection of future women.
Samoa Upolu
Only 12% of Samoans are formally employed, and the rest of them rely on informal income or side jobs to sustain themselves and support their families. Education is the beginning of a solution to this. HXP Builders in Samoa Upolu this year constructed additional learning spaces at a local school. Most children in Samoa are already attending school, but this particular facility only has one classroom where children of all ages learn together. With more space, students are receiving a more personalized and effective education experience.
Thailand Chiang Mai
HXP Builders constructed classrooms in a local village in Thailand to alleviate the burden on teachers, offer more personalized education, and provide safer facilities. The current teacher-student ratio is 1:55, and the classrooms are unsafe because of the conditions they are in and how overcrowded they are. The work HXP Builders did make a difference in each student’s life.
Thailand Udon
HXP Builders constructed classrooms in a local village in Thailand to alleviate the burden on teachers, offer more personalized education, and provide safer facilities. The current teacher-student ratio is 1:55, and the classrooms are unsafe because of the conditions they are in and how overcrowded they are. The work HXP Builders did make a difference in each student’s life.

Uganda Nile River
Current classroom sizes in schools in Uganda range from 140-170 students per classroom, not allowing for personalized learning experiences and decreasing the overall effectiveness of elementary-level learning. HXP Builders constructed additional classrooms for a primary school in a small village in Uganda- this school is the only option for most of the community and is extremely overcrowded. As a result, 180 students, (current and prospective), benefit from educational opportunities and a more effective learning environment.
Uruguay
There are nearly 700 soup kitchens across Uruguay, aiming to feed the large population still in a hunger crisis since COVID-19. At one point, they were feeding 55,000 people, almost 100 each. In response to this crisis, HXP Builders constructed a soup kitchen in a small community in Uruguay consisting of a small kitchen and a dining facility.
Vanuatu
Vanuatu is known for its naturally beautiful landscapes, but due to its location in the Pacific Ocean and in the Ring of Fire, it is chronically prone to natural disasters like cyclones. In just 9 months of 2023, it was hit by 5 cyclones in addition to volcanoes and droughts. Although these have not been extremely life-threatening, they have left the affected communities with extensive damage. HXP Builders in Vanuatu this summer constructed new classrooms for students whose previous learning centers had been destroyed in cyclones. They will help many students and families re-establish education and assist in helping them rebuild their lives following the disasters.
Zimbabwe
Currently, over 67% of Zimbabwe’s school children do not have access to quality education. The education system in Zimbabwe struggles to facilitate learning due to a lack of essential resources. This leads to large numbers of children dropping out. In efforts to help with this social issue, HXP Builders constructed additional classrooms for a primary school. These classrooms are being used as new areas for learning due to the lack of space and overcrowded classrooms that the school was previously experiencing. With more classroom space, more students throughout the community are attending school for the first time and current students are able to learn more effectively.
